Root canal treatment, dental capping (crown), tooth extraction
You can donate after 7 days, provided you have no pain or infection and all wounds are healed.
You should not give blood if you have dental pain or toothache which could be caused by an infection or dental abscess.
Treatment performed outside of the UK or Republic of Ireland (ROI)
You should not give blood for 3 months following any invasive dental treatments performed outside of the UK and Republic of Ireland (ROI). Invasive treatments include root canal treatments, dental capping, dental implants and tooth extractions.
For more complicated dental procedures, you may need to wait longer before donating.
